The National Education Policy 2020 envisions a learner-centric, multidisciplinary, and skill-based approach that integrates modern advancements with India’s rich knowledge traditions. This volume reflects this vision by including diverse contributions that explore policy frameworks, curriculum reforms, skill integration, teacher training, and the role of digital technology in education. The multidisciplinary insights presented here not only highlight the challenges in implementing NEP 2020 but also propose meaningful solutions that align with India's aspirations for Viksit Bharat 2047. Incorporating voices from across the country, this book serves as a comprehensive resource for academicians, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners dedicated to the cause of educational reform. This edited volume is a culmination of the insightful discussions, rigorous research, and innovative ideas presented during the ICSSR-Sponsored National Seminar on "NEP 2020: The Roadmap of Viksit Bharat @ 2047: Challenges and Opportunities", organized by the School of Education, Sharda University, offering valuable perspectives on the future of Indian education.
Dr. Akanksha Srivastava is currently working as an Associate Professor with
The School of Education, Sharda University, Greater Noida. Her academic
qualifications include a Doctorate in Education from Nagpur University on Type
1 Diabetes, along with an M.sc in Anthropology, a Master’s in Education, and English.
In addition to the above-mentioned degrees, she has also qualified NET in
Education and Anthropology, SET in Education and has also been awarded
gold medals for her M.Ed. and M.A. degrees. Along with many national
certificates to her credits she has earned certificates from eight
International Universities Dr.Srivastava has been a part of the teaching
industry for many years and has worked with the likes of several esteemed
Universities in Dehradun, Jammu and Nagpur. She has worked on a variety of projects, including nonfiction books,
academic articles, and technical reports. In addition to her work as an editor,
she is also an accomplished author Her works have been
presented and published in the form of papers and chapters in various reputed
International and National journals and she also has to her credit books
published nationally as well as internationally. She has conducted
many professional development programs on Teacher Education at National and
International level. She has delivered many invited lectures and acted as resource person
in various workshops and conferences. She has been awarded with different
prestigious awards also. Her fields of interest include, but are not limited
to, Research, Educational Psychology and Public Communication. She is a
Research Supervisor and has Ph.Ds awarded under her supervision.
She is a soft skills trainer
with specialisation in body language, communication skills, public speaking,
interview skills and growth mindset.
Dr. Disha Maheshwari has a Ph.D. in Education from the University
of Delhi. She was a Commonwealth Scholar at the Centre for Applied Linguistics,
University of Warwick. Her area of interest are Gender and Education, Discourse
and Identity and Higher Education Pedagogy. At Sharda University she teaches
courses on Gender Studies, Communication, Research Methodology in Education
(Qualitative). She has presented her research work in Cambridge, Stockholm,
Hong Kong, Warwick, Oslo, Tamilnadu.
She worked as a research assistant on
the project ‘ELT Survey of India from
February 2016-May 2016, with Dr Richard Smith, University of Warwick, UK
(Principal researcher and Reader at Centre for Applied Linguistics, University
of Warwick) funded by the British Council.
She also worked as a project associate on the project ‘Children and teachers as co-researchers:
Exploring young learner classrooms in India with Professor Rama Mathew
(Principal Researcher and Professor at Faculty of Education, University of
Delhi), funded by the R and D Project Grant, University of Delhi, Delhi
(2013-2014) and University of Warwick, UK
